Bangladesh emerged as an independent and sovereign country in 1971 following a nine month war of liberation.  It is one of the largest deltas of the world with a total area of 143,998 sq. km.  With a unique communal harmony, Bangladesh has a population of 166 million and annually the population is growing at an average percentage of 1.37%, making it one of the most densely populated nations on earth.  It is also the fourth largest Muslim country in the world. The majority 89.5% of the people are Muslim, 9.6% Hindu, 0.5% Buddhist and 0.4% Christian.

The Pentecostal Assemblies of Bangladesh (PAOB) is the largest denomination in Bangladesh.  The number of churches planted and evangelism keep increasing rapidly as the ministry expands.  PAOB has planted more than 2,000 churches and has a congregation of more than 100,000 people.  They reach these goals through Training, Evangelism, Planting Churches and Theological Education.  In the coming years, PAOB is planning to plant thousands of churches in Bangladesh.

PAOB has a humanitarian agency that is expanding and outreaching towards the unreached and making good relationships with the community by sharing the love of Jesus.  PAOB humanitarian agency workers working from best-practice methodology and results-based measurements, bring short-term relief of food, emergency shelter and clean water in times of crisis and natural disaster.  We are focused on crisis response, food assistance, child sponsorship, children’s home and community development.
