Descriptionslovakia

The first independent church was established in 1932. The Assemblies of God became a movement in 1948, but was not recognized by the state until 1977 because of the communistic regime. By the grace of the Lord we now have freedom to preach the gospel, and the movement now includes 40 pastors, 30 churches, 20 preaching points, and 5,000 believers. We are thankful for the youth that are being reached through Book of Hope, with prevention programs in the schools, and through concerts and various evangelistic crusades.

We have a great challenge to reach gypsies in our country. We have two gypsy churches with two gypsy pastors. Teen Challenge programs also exist in the country. We are now the leading movement among evangelicals in Slovakia. Half of our churches do not own their own buildings, but still we want to influence our nation and other nations. We now have one missionary couple, and each year several short term mission trips are made to Slovenia, Serbia, Romania, Ukraine, and other countries.

We are reaching 200 orphanages in the country with more than 30,000 boxes of gifts. With God’s help, our vision is to establish 40 new churches in each city over 10,000 inhabitants through our church planting movement.
