A Message from the Chairman

May the Lord help us put into practice the words of 2 Corinthians 9:5-9. Let us imitate the Macedonians through acts of compassion for needy persons around the world!

We have at our disposal a powerful tool in the World Assemblies of God Relief Agency—WAGRA. A vast number of the world’s people live in the shadow of deep poverty. These people do not find it easy to eat when they are hungry. They do not drink when they are thirsty. Much of the Third World lives at bare minimum survival levels.

We have an opportunity to put our faith and love into action. The worldwide family of the Assemblies of God can be known for generosity and compassion. We can care for the whole man; body, soul, and spirit.

In our own country (Burkina Faso), for example, we have seen that in caring for human need; food for the hungry, safe water for the thirsty, and care for the hurting, good results come. Not only do we help the suffering but we have seen villages—entire regions—open to the presentation of the gospel of Christ as a result of our compassionate outreach.
